Never Step Over Than Dangerous Bathtub Again!

Every year, thousands of individuals suffer a fall in the bathroom, and falls are the most common cause of injury for older adults according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Many of these injuries occur climbing into or out of the bathtub. Older adults and those who have difficulty stepping into and out of a tub due to injury or other mobility troubles can reduce the likelihood of falling and being injured in a slippery bathtub by having a bathtub to shower conversion installed. A tub to shower conversion is safer than having to step into that dangerous bathtub, it is easy to use while fitting with your existing decor, and costs far less than a complete remodel of your bathtub and the E\Z Step Tub to Walk in Shower in Beautful.

Avoid having to step over that dangerous bathtub’s high walls. Where safety is a concern, a tub to shower conversion is the only way to go. TubtoShower.com’s conversions are safe, accessible, and easy to step into, reducing the possibility of tripping or slipping into or out of the tub. After a TubtoShower.com conversion, there is only a four to five inch step to make. In addition, the safety mats and grab bars included in our installation kit add to the level of safety that you will experience in your new shower. We also offer custom built benches and shower seats so that you can sit down quickly, or even just relax, while in the shower.

A tub to shower conversion is the affordable way to update your bathroom while adding safety to the use of your tub. TubtoShower.com offers modern, spacious, and luxurious fittings and doors for both partial and full walk-in shower conversions. Our conversions offer a high level of customization, including type of glass, type of frame, and shower door configuration. Even our grab bars come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and finishes to match your existing decor or add a whole new look to your bathroom. The E/Z Step Bath and accessories are made from durable, high quality materials, and are easy to clean – they are scrub-free and mold and mildew resistant! See for yourself in our virtual showroom.

Best of all, a tub to shower conversion kit costs up to 60% less than a traditional tub to shower remodel. A conversion can be done using the existing bathtub and wall configuration so that walls are not knocked down and pipes do not need to be re-routed. This saves time, hassle, and money. Tub to shower conversions can be done in almost any bathroom, from private homes to living facilities. TubtoShower.com is the originator of the E/Z Step Bathtub to Shower Conversion, with over fifteen years of experience installing tub to shower conversions, from start to finish. Walk in Shower Questions

walk in shower We received a great phone call today from a very nice lady in Virginia with some questions on converting her bathtub into a walk in shower. She was amazed that we have been converting bathtubs to walk in showers for over 16 years and she had never even heard about the process or that anybody could or would cut a tub down. So of course her first question was "how do you even cut down a tub and what do you use to fill in the cut down area?" Great Question I told her - some parts of the process are proprietary but I gave the basic explanation of the process. First we decide on a Notch Cut or Full Cut E\Z Step Bathtub to Shower Conversion and that is based on her preferences, the configuration of the bathroom and the type of bathtub is in the bathroom. The Notch Cut is more of a modern looking tub conversion where as the Full Cut is a very Traditional looking and most people won't even realize it is not a walk in shower. The pros for the Notch Cut is the cool appearance, can be very customized with shower door openings up to 36", works well with a custom shower bench, can be upgraded to 3/8" Frameless Shower Doors and the tub cut can be a little lower than the Full Cut. The Full Cut is more versatile in small bathrooms with little room for doors to open out into the bathroom area, the sliding glass doors are easier to operate for people with hand, elbow and arm problems. Our ratio is 3 out of every 4 conversions we complete are a Full Cut and it is also a bit less expensive.

The simple explanation of our E\Z Step Tub to Walk in Shower Conversion process consists of us installing our Kits which are designed with a solid surface material that represents the texture of the bathtubs, a color match system that matches the new kit to the color of the bathtub and very dependable bonding procedure to secure and bond the kit to the tub. The seam is then smoothed out by wet sanding so it is a soft texture just like the new surface. The beauty of our process is when we are completed with the walk in shower conversion it looks fantastic! The number 1 comment we receive from our client's when we complete the job is "That looks great, it looks like it was made that way!" After completing the tub to shower conversion work we the install 2 grab bars, typically a 24" grab bar on the back wall of the shower and a 18" bar on the wall where our client gets in and out of the shower. We put in a permanent or a normal bath mat and a hand held shower head on an adjustable slide pole. To finish off the project we install the custom built shower enclosure. After we went through shower conversion process she asked these 3 questions -tub to shower

  • How long does the process take?
  • What is the price range?
  • Do you warranty the new shower conversion?

The E\Z Step Tub to Shower Conversion usually is installed in one day but some tub cuts take longer so we made need a day and a half at most.

The price starts out at $990 for a budget tub cut only and goes up to $2388 for a Notch Cut E\Z Step with the shower enclosure, 2 grab bars, bathmat and the custom built shower installed

The warranty is the best in the business - we own it as long as you own it. Workmanship and the Labor -

Thanks again for the great phone call Mrs G.

Simple Walk in Shower

bathtub modificationA simple process to create a safe and secure walk in shower for our friends at the Special Little Angels care home in Rialto CA. Venita called and wanted information on converting a bathtub to a walk in shower and so we discussed the E\Z Step Bathtub to Walk in Shower Conversion Cut and A Curtain special she was very excited. She has had several quotes on traditional bathtub remodels and bathroom modifications that were very high, some as high as $15,000! Since the bathroom is used primarily by residents needing some shower assistance I suggested the Cut and A Curtain so they would not have to deal with the shower doors while bathing the clients. We went ahead with the E\Z Step Tub to Shower Conversion for her and we completed it in only 6 hours, usable the very next day and only charged her $1475 for the shower conversion.
Everyone at the residence was very existed with their new shower conversion and they were impressed with just how nice it looked! Venita has since forwarded us some photos of injuries the residents received when trying to climb in and out of the bathtub to take their showers. She wanted me to post them so people can see the serious nature of bathtub and bathroom accidents and not put off the bathtub modification assuming it won't ever happen to them or thwalk in showereir loved ones. I may or may not post the pictures do to other circumstances but they are very scary to be sure. We have had so many nice people get all of the information regarding a walk in shower for their parents or other family members only to have them put it off for another time...Do not wait until it is too late. The excited residents of the home at Special Little Angels were all ready to use the new E\Z Step Bathtub to Walk in Shower Conversion and next month we are going to convert the bathtub in the other bathroom to walk in shower conversion that will be accessible to wheelchair users.

This project will consist of removing the sunken fibergass bathtub surround and bringing the floor area up to the level of the bathroom floor and then install a barrier free shower pan, new surround, grab bars and a hand held shower head on an adjustable sliding rod. Updates to come later.

Better Communication equals better tub to shower conversions

Are you interested in reducing mistakes that hinder a contractor day in, and day out?  We often find ourselves butting heads with clients due to misunderstood expectations.   There are simple methods that will help improve our client-contractor relationships and our profit margins.  When coming to terms with a client, it is important to be attentive to unspoken communication, use a detailed photo portfolio as well as a checklist.
Verbal and written communications are only a part of human interaction.  It is critical to be attentive to body language, facial expressions and the energy of our clients.  If this is a new idea for you, I would like to encourage you to explore and grow in ‘unconscious’ communication.   Be aware and notice other people’s unconscious subtleties and you will begin to gain a better understanding.
Our clients will be able to understand our products and services if we provide a detailed and honest portfolio of photos.  We can use photos to track and convey our progress from month to month as well as year to year.  It’s common for contractors to show only the best before and after photos, which gives clients inaccurate expectations.  It is a wise idea to share the photos from your most recent jobs as well as the photo collections that are relevant to their contract.  Your portfolio will properly serve you and your clients when it is fluid and changing with your work.
Checklists, like portfolios, need to stay current and to date.  We can use checklists to reduce reoccurring mistakes.  Contractors, like any professionals, will continue to make new mistakes.  If we take advantage of this tool, a checklist, mistakes and their costly consequences will be slashed.   Start using, re-using, and updating a checklist or two.
There are three tools to cut mistakes and costs with improved communication.  Be aware of unconscious subtleties, improve your photo portfolio and get the most out of checklists.

Bathtub to Shower Conversion - It is a good idea?

Tub to Shower Conversion – Is It a Good Idea

Have you thought about getting a tub to shower conversion as opposed to installing a new walk in shower? Most people don't even realize they can have their tub converted into a walk in shower, but that is a viable option to take into consideration. Installers can use the existing plumbing and siding in a bathtub to make a whole new walk in shower that you can use. As long as the tub and its components work, you can get the walk in of your dreams. Here is a quick analysis to determine if this is a good idea or not.

For the most part, a tub to shower conversion will take much less time to do than a full installation.  Some tubs can be converted in a single day, but almost all of them can be done in less than two. This is because the installers in this case already have the foundation they need to work with, so all they have to do is minor alterations. You will be able to get your bathroom back in order in a weekend, and then you can move onto working on some other projects in the home.

A tub to shower conversion uses fewer materials than a full installation, and it requires less labor. Thus you can save a ton of money by going this route as opposed to doing something else. If you are worried about not liking the results, rest assured that you will be getting a customized installation that is fit to your specific needs. You can plan the look, feel, and function of the shower so that you like what happens with it. There is no worry about having a cookie cutter walk in shower when you have a custom tub conversion in your home.

The big question in all of this is whether a tub to shower conversion is a good idea. The answer is yes every time. Whether you want to save money, save time, or save stress, this is the best option for you. If you have a need for a walk in shower, you may want to look into your conversion options. You just need to make sure you find a good team of people in your area that you can rely on to get the job done. With them at hand working on your tub, you will have the shower of your dreams soon enough.
